I am away from campus now, but the computer is
in Maaske 325 and I don't have access to the
number, but the Humanities Program Assistant,
Karen may know. I will cc her here. My
colleagues have all had their machines die and
be replaced in the last year or so.
Description of problem: When I went into my
office and tried to CTL-ALT restart my
computer, I got the black dot-matrix window. I
tried getting it to restart several times
there. Then, I manually turned off (hard
restart), waited, and turned back on. For more
than two hours, I received the regular screen
with a note about "loading updates." No
progress seemed to be happening. I gave up and
had to leave.
Thank you for sending someone by as soon as you
are able.
