Hi Emily,

I discussed this matter with our Systems Support 
team as they oversee Sophos and security concerns. 
What was discovered is the Operating System (OS) 
on your 13" MacBook Air is too old for Sophos to 
update, Sophos hasn't been updated in 3 years, and 
won't be able to until the OS gets updated to a 
more recent version.

We recommend bringing the machine to the UCS front 
desk in the ITC South Wing Room 009A. We can 
update this Mac to a more recent version of Mac OS 
that should work with most modern software, 
including Sophos.

We would need to keep the 13" MacBook Air for at 
least a day, possibly several days. You'd need to 
backup any important files you want to keep. 
Ideally we'd re-image this computer so it's like 
new when we give it back to you.

We're open 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, although I 
recommend showing up before 4 pm if possible.

Hi Adam! I’m out of the state right now 
(sabbatical through December) but can bring my 
laptop by UCS the week after next for updating. If 
there is a way I can do it from my end (Sophos 
says to contact IT administrator), please provide 
instructions and I’ll do so.

assigned to you. It says here, back in 2020, there 
was a request made to update Sophos. Is this still
