Seems like a reimage might help this issue? I have a newer loaner at my desk if we want to loan that out while a reimage happens.

****This is an email****
I just did a tech check for two national
presentations I need to give. They do not want
me to present on my WOU laptop as the audio is
unstable, breaks, and is difficult to hear. I
end up yelling into the computer and moving
really close. I also participated in a meeting
a few hours ago with the same feedback from my
other colleague in Gerontology. I am no longer
using my WOU laptop this week to teach. I
really need another option for teaching
virtually as my personal computer is really old
but I am using it. My desktop at work does not
have a microphone or camera. Please help.

Margaret

Hi All:

After about an hour, the computer finally
restarted. I was able to close it down, start
it up again, and use it. I am going to monitor
it this week to see if these issues continue
and make sure I am not aggravating anything in
the process. Therefore, no need to pick it up
in my office as I am bringing it back to my
house. I will keep in touch but will still use
my old personal computer for audio in giving
presentations.

Have a good week.

Margaret

Hi All:

I am convinced that this laptop is a lemon. I
came into the office today with it to see if I
had better luck with it on campus. It has been
restarting for about 20 minutes and still
trying.

Here is what I am experiencing:

It takes me a lot of time to connect to the
remote desktop and downloading something takes
me 15-20 minutes or more especially for PPT
slides I am finding.

It won't turn off sometimes and I go to bed
hoping it will turn off by the time I get up in
the morning! I just tried to manually turn off
the laptop since it is still trying to restart
and it won't turn off. Feeling a bit crazy!

I am now in my office and it won't connect to
the internet (but my desktop will). I am
trying to use it to Google voice type for
grading since I need to be mindful of my
recovering fractured elbow--I can't bring it up
at all since the computer is still restarting
and it won't turn off manually.

I can't access much on this laptop in a timely
manner. I am now using an old computer I own
since it does have a microphone and camera but
some keys are broken.

Please help! The loaner was better than this
one (IMO). The only thing I can do right now
is to take out the battery which I am reluctant
to do.

I am going to leave it in my office and head
home. I have unplugged the power cord in hopes
that it will run out the battery. Would it be
possible for someone to retrieve it on Monday?
I am not sure what to do at this point but it
is really affecting my productivity and ability
to deliver remotely.

Thanks, Folks! I know this is a pain for
everyone.
