Dear UCS,

I'm having some trouble with my desktop computer (an iMac) in my faculty office.  My name's Ryan Hickerson, by the way, my office is HSS 322.  I cannot seem to get the thing all the way through its boot sequence!!!.  I can get it to the login screen where I enter my credentials, but then after that screen it hangs before loading my desktop.  I've tried multiple times.  No luck.  

I do know that the version of iOS currently installed on it is no longer up to date.  My first thought would be to upgrade the operating system.  But, unfortunately, I cannot get it booted to a spot where I can upgrade the OS...  

Please help!  Maybe the whole thing needs to be re-imaged?  If that's the case, please feel free to re-image it (all my documents are stored in the network; so there's nothing on the harddrive that I would need.)  Karen, in the front office for Humanities (Karen Bednarowski), could let you into my office, but you would need to coordinate with her regarding when she'll be in the office, as I know she is working fewer on-campus hours during the pandemic. p.s.  This isn't urgent, as I'm doing all my work from home these days.  But I'll eventually need to use the office computer again... (hopefully!)
