Hi lovely UCS folks,

My computer is freaking me out a little bit, acting like it's possessed. I wonder if it is possible it has been taken control of by someone off campus?

I am including a couple of screenshots. It shows 100% to 98% usage of my C: drive, and it seems to be constantly reading and writing. It was super slow to boot up at all, then would not let me open Chrome or Firefox, then froze up. When I rebooted it, it took about 10 minutes to come back up, is running very slow, and there was something about Xbox console and phone usage? As far as I know, it has never been used for either of those purposes.

Maybe this is all random and it is fine. But in case it is doing something harmful, I've powered it down and unplugged the ethernet cable.

It is WOU # 20181061[Edit Inv] and is in room 119 of Natural Sciences. If I'm not around and someone wants to come grab it from UCS, please go ahead. Any other NS staff member should be able to unlock my office door.

Thank you! I apologize if I am overreacting!

Piper
