I need some additional information regarding

Description: mac not working 

I'm Katherine with UCS, I've been helping with your 
computer. I've finished reimaging and installing 
software on your computer. It is ready to be picked 
up from our office. We are open 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM 
and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Mon-Fri. When you come to 
pick-up your laptop, don't forget to bring in your 
loaner. If you have any questions feel free to

Hi, John: 

 

Thanks for getting back to me! That all sounds 
great! I backed up my files (presentations and 
documents) on my Google drive and on my network 
drive when I was on campus last week, so that 
shouldn't be a problem. In terms of other 
software, it's just Zoom that I've been using, 
but I know how to download and install that 
myself, so that's simple enough. Let me know a 
good day and time for dropping off my laptop 
and picking up the loaner, and again, thanks 
for all your help!

Hi, John:

 

Thanks for reaching out! I appreciate any help! 

 

My computer is just being super slow. It 
struggles to load google chrome and zoom. 
Typically, it takes me 15 minutes and multiple 
tries of restarting zoom and my computer to get 
zoom to even open. It also does a weird thing 
where it tells me I have the podcast app open 
when I don’t use the app on my computer. It 
also just quits apps or freezes them super 
often. It’s all sporadic though, and there’s 
not a real pattern to it. But I can’t have more 
than like two things open at once without it 
slowing down considerably. Even opening the 
settings or trying to open the finder takes 5-
10 minutes sometimes. All of this becomes a 
problem when I’m trying to screen share with 
students during our 45-minute appointments. I’m 
pretty good about updating my programs and even 
my laptop overall, so I’m not sure what the 
problem is. 

 

I’d love to have you all look at it, but since 
I’m working from home, I’m concerned with how 
long I’d have to give up my computer for you to 
work on it. Please let me know how you think we 
should proceed and what a timeline would be.
