still having same issue
will need to talk to john
keeping the computer for now but she'll need it back by october at the latest, she'll be out of the country and wants to still have meetings with her team

checking the hardware/wiring connection didn't help anything. will need to order new part.

running a (very long) diagnostics test from dell. previous steps have not worked. the camera turns on for a few seconds, freezes and turns off, and repeats.
