situation is a little weird, but nathan said it'd be best to just not worry about trying to fix it, etc. i think we're just keeping the computer in our office. i might take a look at it for funsies, since it is a 2016, and see if i can get it working. will probably close this ticket soon.

Good Morning,

After speaking with our supervisor, we have determined it is best to replace the computer. Water damage can have unpredictable effects on computers, and this machine appears to already need part replacements. Please let us know if you have any questions about this.

Thank you,

Lauryn Aronson

Yes, this is true... It was an item in the flood. We are hoping that your evaluation of the unit will help us report back to the insurance company if the unit needs to be replaced.

Thanks!

Additionally, one of the memos in this ticket says this piece of equipment was in the flood last March and you were going to talk to your legal team about it. From the given description of the issue, it sounds like this is a fairly standard fix, but I wanted to check if you were able to contact your legal team (in case the computer does have water damage).

Hi Lauryn,

This computer is still not working.

Could we have someone from UCS coordinate with Heather Gonzalez (cc'd here) and come out to DeVolder to take a look at it?

Thanks!

This is one of the pieces of equipment that was in the flood last March. We had a service person from Shimadzu come out this summer and certify the equipment, but now it looks like the computer may have failed."

Thanks,

Hi There,

I have a computer that has given a blue screen
error and then tries to boot up using a self
repair, and it ends on a black screen. The
computer is in DFSC room 202 and is 20160791[Edit Inv].

This computer houses software for our Shimadzu
UV/Vis 2600 Spectrophotometer that is called UV
Probe. We actually do not have the CD housed here
with us currently. I'm hoping that UCS has it? We
have all the manuals, which is where I would also
think the CD would be if we had it. Although
Professor Poston (who retired last year, would
have installed the unit in the lab).

We appreciate any help you can provide to help us
get this equipment up and running (hopefully
before next Monday)

Thank you so much,
Patty
