port/plugs

I was able to get it working in our office here. I 
was wondering where this monitor is being used and 
what kind of cords (besides the power cord) it had; 
To help figure out why it wasn't working for you.

This monitor was brought in, a monitor, it's stand and a chord. 

The monitor wasn't working because no chord was recognized when plugged into the ports. Please help diagnose this issue, if it is fixable that'd be great, if not he'll give it up.
