deleted software, removed user profiles. computer seems a bit faster. we will see. asked her to update me once she has a chance to take a look at it. in a previous email, i told her of the options to reimage, add an nvme (purchased by her dept), or both in further attempts to speed the computer up. she didn't mention either in her response, so she is likely uninterested, but i let her know those are still options.

Hi Laura,

I need some additional information regarding service request #79007

Description: Conference Computer Needs Software Deleted

To confirm, is this computer #20170872[Edit Inv]?

Which software would you like deleted? Additionally, would you be able to send me a list of the usernames of people whose accounts should be on the computer? If I know who should be on the computer (i.e. who is currently employed and using the computer), I will know which accounts, if any, I am able to delete to hopefully speed up the computer. 

We are also able to reimage the computer, which would erase all data on it and reset it to the default state. This would mean all accounts would be deleted, and we would need to reinstall all software back on the computer. Finally, we have started replacing the hard drives in newer computers with faster NVME drives. If this is an option you would like to look into, you could purchase one through Purchase Request for around $50. 

Please let me know if you would like to pursue either/both of these options. 

It is likely we will need to bring the computer back to UCS to be worked on. Is there a preferable time for this?

About six months ago we had two students assist 
with the slow speed issue in our facilities 
conference room #122's computer.  They explained 
to us that it was slow because of all the programs 
loaded on it, the multiple users, and it could 
benefit from a scheduled clean-up. 

We would like to have a few large programs, like 
CAD, deleted from that computer so we can speed it 
up.  

If your staff could come to look at it that would 
be great. The conference room is available this 
week.

Would someone be able to look at it soon? If I am 
not here, Jeannie or Lauren Kennedy will be able 
to assist anyone coming to our office.
