Hi Ryan,

I need some additional information regarding 
service request #79097

Description: Slow computer/ freezes 

I am not sure if Michael responded to you or not 
regarding moving over your apps and settings from 
one hard drive to another but it can be quite 
difficult. I have a new hard drive getting set up 
for you now that I should have ready for you in 
about an hour to an hour and a half. if there is 
any files that you want to save I would recommend  
saving them to your H drive so you would be able 
to access them when I install your new hard drive. 
If there are any specific applications that you 
need I can install them before I replace your hard 
drive if you want.

This afternoon after 1 would be great.

Yeah there's software that would be good to get 
off of it, so I wouldn't have to redownload it all 
but if I remember correctly, the programs can't 
just easily be moved from one hard drive to 
another keeping all the settings and information 
intact?

Hi Ryan,

Regarding service request #79097,

It sounds like a common problem we have been seeing 
on campus. The hard drive probably just needs to be 
replaced - and we can get that done for you. I just 
need to know 1) what a good time would be that the 
computer is not in use so we can work on it, and 2) 
if there is any special software or files saved on 
the computer that will need to be saved or swapped?

Hello, I am in Rice Audtiorium in the scene shop, 
and I have been having rather severe issues with 
my Desktop Computer (20171065).  The hard drive 
doesn't ever stop running, and it takes forever to 
have programs open if they ever open at all, as 
well as websites loading.  (So far today it took 
almost 50 minutes to get Zoom to open.)  I have 
powered down, and restarted the computer a number 
of times but the issue still persists.  Is there 
anyway I can have someone look at the computer?
