Sam,

I am not an IT person and this is honestly a bit
overwhelming. I know we are all busy, but it
feels like the new laptop I was given should
already have a functional camera.

I have been using the workaround of relying on my
personal laptop for zoom meetings from home, but
now it has gone south. Is there no way someone can
come by either this afternoon/evening (I'm here
until 7.) or on Thursday to try out these fixes?

I rebooted at least 3 times yesterday with no
change.

Just now, I rebooted with monitor plugged in and
zoom settings gave me two options for camera.
Monitor camera worked, when I switched to internal
webcam the screen was black.

Then I unplugged from monitor and rebooted. Zoom
settings gives me only one option for internal
webcam (makes sense) and a black screen.

When I searched for 'camera' I get a strange
screen that I don't recognize.

Yes, it's a new laptop with a camera #20210099[Edit Inv].

Yes, I did go into the video tab and there is only
one option: integrated webcam. When I looked at my
colleague's options, she had two in the drop down.

If I start up a Zoom meeting with my external
monitors connected, the camera on my monitor
works.

Hello,

I tried to do a zoom meeting from home on my work
laptop yesterday for the first time. The laptop
did not recognize my camera and I don't know why.
I tried going into the video settings, figuring
I'd need to choose another option on the drop-down
to tell it not to use the camera on my work
monitor, but there was only one option.

I have another meeting coming up. Can you show me
how to easily switch my cameras, depending on
whether I'm connected to my monitors here at work
vs just on the laptop at home.

Thanks,
Lisa
