Also, any files I had on the H drive were lost 
when my old machine died, I guess.
I thought the H drive was not stored on the 
computer but was stored at a server somewhere at 
WOU.
Have I really lost all my previous class 
preparation, syllabi, assignments, etc. from 2007 
until 2019?

As for additional hardware/peripherals,
Is it possible to get a real headset/microphone 
that has ear cups that fit completely over 2 ears? 
I have been gifted with one that only has 1 tiny 
ear circle that slips and slides around when I try 
to wear it and then a flat piece of plastic on the 
other side that fits your head. It slips around 
and I can't seem to hear out of it well for either 
ear. I think I need both ears to be able to do my 
job.

Dear Jose,
this is excellent news!
1. I use Microsoft Word most often as it does not 
make me use the insanely small 11 point font of 
Google Docs.
I also use the online textbooks I teach with but 
they seem to come up fine in Chrome so I don't 
think there will be a problem.
2. What is an admin and what are my choices? I am 
confused by this question.
3. BELL 304. The closest person with keys if I am 
not on campus is the Division administrative 
assistant Karen Bednarowski at the end of the 
hall. Would she be the admin? Or is it someone who 
knows about computers?
4. My next free (no students scheduled yet) office 
hour is today at 1 pm. The next ones are Wednesday 
and Thursday at the same time although we may have 
students come in and interrupt us as there are 
exams scheduled those days at 2 pm.
Thank you for scheduling extra time to set this up 
with me. I have saved the instructions to connect 
to the printer in my email but have some questions 
about safety, accessibility, headsets, Zoom, etc. 
as the loaner has been wonderful but I have still 
not succeeded in understanding its differences 
from my previous computer.
Would it be better for me to meet you on Wednesday 
or Thursday at noon instead of 1 in case it takes 
me a while to catch on? I would be happy to drive 
in early tomorrow to make this happen and give us 
a larger window of time! Thursday is harder but I 
could still make it happen. It is already too late 
for me to drive in to arrive before 1 pm today..

Some additional questions for your setup:

Do you need any additional software?

Who would you like as admins?

Can I have your building and room number?

Lastly, what is your availability for the next few 
business days to set it up with you?



Also, if this is replacing an existing computer 
make sure to add all the files that you want to 
keep on the H: drive because they won't transfer 
over otherwise.



Once that is complete, we can set up your new 
equipment.
