The issue was with the network and the the printer talks directly to the computers in that room.  Paul and I track down the issue and applied a fix.

Hello –

Our department printer "Kandinski" is on its own 
local network here in ITC210, which acts up from 
time to time. Currently it won't print and 
students are receiving a "filter failed" error 
message.

We're working on a project for which we REALLY 
need it working... I'm crossing my fingers that 
someone can look into this and resolve it by 
Monday afternoon.
