I brought over cords; took a few cords back as well as loaner mouse and keyboard. The intent was to be to take back the loaner monitor as well, however, the usb c to thunderbolt 2 adapter did not connect to the apple cinema display.

needed but I haven’t heard back yet. I appreciate

There are still a couple of licenses needing 
transferred to the new computer; namely, texas 
instruments audio, izotope and soundtoys. There were 
a couple of other smaller ones. I brought over two 
usb-c to usb-c cables to connect things for the time 
being; Ethan said the department would order some so 
we could get those back.

I can get all the licenses transferred over

If you’re free around 3 you could come help me swap 
the computer out and trouble shoot those licensing 
issues.

Hey, I've been working on the new computer and 
there's three plugin manufacturers that are not 
cooperating with the transfer and have me stumped. 
Soundtoys, Izotope, and Native Instruments. They all 
have slightly different problems. Soundtoys and 
Izotope are both licensing issues with the ilock 
system and Native Instruments is not 
recognizing/authorizing its own plugins even though 
they are installed.

I'd like to go ahead and swap out the computers next 
week regardless and update the operating system and 
then try to solve the issues with the plugins after 
that. Weekday afternoons are still best for me.

We might need to pester Dirk because a couple of 
them are registered to him.

Hi Ethan,

Whenever you're able to, let me know if there is 
more to be done to the new mac studio; if everything 
swaps just fine, then I can go ahead and setup / 
assist setting up the computer and dock in it's 
permanent spot, and then I would have to take the 
old Mac Pro for reimaging; I believe the old mac pro 
is the departments, so we would hold onto it for 2 
weeks, reimage it, and give it back to the 
department for future use - or, if it is not needed 
by the department anymore, we would PDR it.

Later, he will verify that the backup went through 
and we will see if any passwords / licenses need to 
be transferred to the new machine. Once we have this 
done, we can actually set up the new machine w/ 
dock, and take the old mac pro back.

Transfer worked and log in worked. Now the tedious 
part of getting all the plugin licenses to transfer 
to the new machine. I’m free all of Monday to start 
dealing with that though.

Took monitor 20161045[Edit Inv], mouse and keyboard and cables 
to temporarily set up the mac studio. We began a 
migration assistant with the original mac pro, it is 
sitting and we are hoping it will go through tonight 
to be looked at on monday. Ethan also said he would 
check it out later today and make sure it doesn't 
need user input to continue or something.

Unfortunately he was not in today. I would be able 
to attempt installing the backup on the new Mac 
Studio if the old Mac Pro was done backing up, or 
you could also try to restore the mac studio from 
the mac pro's backup yourself. Just let me know what 
works for you.

Brought Mac Studio 20221201[Edit Inv] as well as the 
pertaining dock for this setup to the room it will 
be hooked up in, APSC 230. We did not get to 
actually setting up the device - we are attempting 
to back up the hard drive on the old machine and put 
it in the new computer. We made plans to do this 
around the same time (2:30) tomorrow (7-19), will 
update then. New equipment setup forms for studio 
and dock both on my desk.

I believe this mac studio is updated and imaged 
accordingly, I wanted to ask if there was any 
additional software you need installed on it outside 
of it's basic apps? Garageband is installed, for

All this computer needs is a quick double check over 
everything that was installed today, we still don't 
have the printer drivers through self service so we 
are waiting on that for this machine and the 8 
macbooks from SR 80810. Will set up this mac studio 
as well as it's dock tomorrow hopefully, 7-18.

Hey Jack, 

So the recording studio needs to have the new Mac 
studio we ordered installed and the caldigit dock 
will go along with that. I’m hoping a system 
migration will be the easiest way to go about this 
but we should definitely go over the logistics.

I have a couple lessons in the studio this afternoon 
if you want to meet and go over a game plan for that 
around 4:30
