I went over there and installed the rest of the 
equipment, taking back the desktop 20140867[Edit Inv] and 
monitor 20140746[Edit Inv]. There was a 2010 monitor that 
should be exempt that he is keeping in the room. 
Everything worked accordingly, closing ticket.

Equipment besides the new laptop was returned to new 
equipment setup, I will reach out to him tomorrow / 
soon to install this all.

We dropped off the laptop - he did not know that he 
would be getting a whole new setup. He thought the 
laptop he had was going to be replaced with a new 
laptop. So, I explained to him that it would 
actually replace the 2014 desktop he had in his room 
He agreed to the replacement, so I told him he could 
hold onto the new laptop, and we can wait until he 
has all the files he needs off the desktop to do the 
swap. For the time being, I took back all other 
peripherals, I just left him the new laptop. He had 
two old monitors (like a 2010 and 2009) in his room, 
so I'm sure he would want one of those in 
conjunction with the new monitor to have two still.

Hi Jack,
I see. No problem, except I have a meeting just 
before our meeting at 3pm, so I can't stop by 
earlier. I could stop by afterwards, or...would it 
be possible to do everything at our meeting...if I 
sign off the school's network and we use my hotspot, 
possibly? Regardless, I look forward to seeing you 
at 3pm.

Hi Ethan, I was making sure I have everything 
prepared for your laptop this evening, and I 
installed the VPN on your laptop for use off campus. 
The only thing is, it needs your login so it can be 
configured on your account; how it is set up 
currently, it will ask for the VPN server address 
and ask for your login when you initially sign into 
it. It is fairly easy, and there are instructions 
through here: https://wou.edu/ucs/remote-access/ and 
under 'WOU vpn,' step 12 and onward. The only thing 
you would have to do is upon initially opening Cisco 
AnyConnect (our school's vpn), it will ask for a 
server to connect to, which is simply ra.wou.edu; 
you hit connect, and then it asks for your schools 
login and you are done. If you prefer me to do this, 
it would be great if you could meet me here before 
our scheduled equipment setup, or you can come in 
after, because we need to be off the school's wifi / 
internet to be able to connect it. Alternatively, 
you would also be able to attempt this at home when 
you are off the schools network.

Hi Ethan,

Yes, you are able to take your laptop for use 
elsewhere. If you plan on using it off campus, we 
will have to install the schools VPN so you can 
connect to internet off campus. This coming Monday @ 
3pm would work for me to come install this setup in 
your office.

Hi Richard,
We can do an office setup. But, to answer your 
question, since it's a laptop, I plan on using it in 
several locations. That is the advantage of a 
laptop, yes? It will be used at my office at WOU, 
but also at home when I am working after hours. 
Heck, I may even use it at a coffee shop from time-
to-time!

How about this coming Monday at 3pm? My office is 
Todd 344.

Normally, we deliver and setup the equipment 
ourselves in your office on campus to make sure that 
little things like the monitors are ordered 
properly, the ethernet port is active, etc. This 
isn't a setup you are taking for at home use is it?

Hi Jack,
Thanks for reaching out. I just need the standard 
software on there. Office, Adobe, Zoom, etc. Nothing 
specialized. However, I would like to make sure that 
I have administrator privileges on the machine, so I 
can download, install, and all that without bumping 
into problems.
