was able to install NVIVo, no problems - used his key as listed on T drive. Had him fill out personal info. Closing ticket.

Hi Daniel,

I need some additional information regarding service request #81165

Description: Dan Dowhower needs NVivo installed on his machine

It appears no one was able to install NVivo on your machine while I was out for the day; I apologize for the delay in getting this to you - I tried communicating with who was here that you were only dropping it off for the day and that it would take 2 minutes to install but it seems communication got broken down.

I am on campus this term Monday: 3-5pm, Tuesday: 9-5pm, Wednesday: 3-5pm, and Friday: 9-5pm.

I am able to meet anywhere on campus as well,

I tried communicating that this was something that could be done really quickly and that he dropped it off for the day to have that performed.

I believe I am able to install NVivo on your machine now, if you wanted to come into the office sometime on Friday I will be here until 2pm or so, otherwise I won't be available until next Tuesday; if you needed this software before that, there should be someone else at UCS that would be able to assist you in downloading this software on your machine.

Dan picked up his laptop today as he needs a device to use, I had him sign in, I added his admin rights, and told him I would be in touch with him about NVivo soon. Hopefully within this week we can get that taken care of for him.

In that case, I believe that would be a purchase request you would submit from your department for an external hard drive. If you know the requirements you would need from an external drive, or one you are looking at in particular, you can send a link / info along with your purchase request to Joanie. Otherwise, we could look over a few potential options if you are able to get an external hard drive. I would probably recommend one with at least 4 or so TB's of information, this should easily provide more than enough space to put laptop files on for some years to come.

Hi Dan! I'm sorry for the delay, I was looking through the NVivo installs for your key still. However, I don't think we need a key? Do you remember if you were using NVivo 12? It says in it's documentation that you can just login with your faculty account. If you are able to look at your old laptop to see what version is installed on it, that would help me out.

I installed the latest version of STATA (stata 18), however, when I was looking through our installs for NVivo, I did not find any activation codes with your name attached to them. Is this software you have used before?

Install STATA, should be listed under his name in installs so we install the right one / version. I have never heard of nvivo.

I just imaged and updated your new laptop. Before I schedule a delivery, was there any special software you needed on this machine? It already has the basics; zoom, MS office suite, adobe, etc.
