I sent info to Tiara and her dept. heads (Paula Baldwin and Karen B.) about how much the dock would be for the dept, (around $300), and we will be looking for a request soon.

Good morning Paula and Karen,

I need to update my dock for my laptop. Currently I cannot charge my laptop and use my larger monitor, so I am running out of power in the middle of working. Boo!

Our friendly UCS tech Jack sent the following message (below) with the option that our department can buy from them. Would you two be the people to contact for this request? Now that I am back on campus, it is time to make the office and equipment fully functional : )

Alright, I just emailed some folks in my department that may be able to help and CC’d you on the message. Thank you and I hope I can get that new dock soon. Not being able to charge and use the monitor is the worst!

Good morning Tiara,

I looked over some options and it seems ultimately your department would have to order a new dock from UCS, same with a monitor. I believe a department head would send us a request for these; the new dock for macbooks that we offer is the CalDigit TS3 Plus dock, and the monitors we are currently offering are around 24" w/ a webcam, speakers and microphone built into them. Tiara messaged me inquiring about a replacement dock as back in 2019, when she received the equipment, this usb c hub was the 'dock' they were giving out at the time. I will have to ask, A, if her department would have to submit a purchase request for an actual dock (not a hub), and B, if we could assign an older (like a 2014) monitor to their setup as they didn't get a monitor back in 2019 either. They are using some exempted monitor from 2009 currently. 

TLDR; she requests a dock, and I would like to see if a monitor can be put in her setup alongside the 2009 exempt monitor.

I was able to connect everything and move things around, helped manage cables. She said that her iPhone was seemingly connected to WOU-Secure now, all problems have been addressed. I noticed the only WOU supplies she was provided was her laptop and 'dock' (usb-c hub). I want to inquire to see if she could maybe get a monitor that isn't from 2009!

Tomorrow would work well between 11:30a.m. and 
1:30p.m.. Thursday this week works well in that 
same time frame as well. 
Next week, I could do anytime on Tuesday from 
9a.m. to 1:30p.m. and those same hours on 
Thursday.

Which of those works best? Thank you for your 
time!

I just want to connect one monitor and it used to 
work, but I tried to connect today and it wasn’t 
working. So some troubleshooting for that would be 
great!

Hello Monica,

The W#20190419[Edit Inv]. I need help with connecting it to 
the second monitor and I think I need a hub or 
something because of the lightening ports on the 
Mac laptop.

I have not been able to connect to the WOU-Secure 
on my iPhone yet.

make sure my phone also connects to WIFI at work.
