Hi Karen,

I need some additional information regarding service request #81184

Description: Humanities PC needs reimaging

This machine is basically all ready to be put back; was there any special software needed on it? I am available today or tomorrow to install this.

Karen, I apologize for the delay with this! For all this week, our imaging server has been down for windows PC's. As such, I am currently unable to download the school's copy of windows on any of our machines :( We are working swiftly to correct this as it is holding up a lot of service requests currently. Thank you for your patience in this process, I will get to this computer as soon as the imaging server is up and running again.

Is the 2016 desktop still in the office? I am able to speed it up some time soon, I see the ticket hasn't been updated since last month.

Thank you, Jack.

Molly Mayhead retired about 4-5 years ago.  She was a Communication
Studies professor, which is a department within the Humanities Division.
She isn't here, so can't make that request.  I've copied our Division
Chair, Paula, Baldwin, on this for her approval, if it's needed.

I tried to do the computer request for both, but each time I received a
message saying, "You cannot submit a new request, you have already
submitted a request".  I sent all the information to Joanie.

2013 desktop's HDD is like, broken, and the 2016 seems to have a normal HDD so that is why it is slow. I had her submit requests for both devices, though I think only the 2016 can be requested for as that is the only desktop that was originally Karen's / in that room. Joannie told me the original owner / person who intook it the 2013 would be the one to make a request. Also, Karen asked on behalf of student Adrianna Cardenas to get their MS office license added, which I did. Ultimately, we are just waiting to hear back for replacements for these machines, and if not, then at least an NVME upgrade for the 2016.

Description: Computer Error BEFORE 9 AM TOMORROW

I had Joannie check the status on both computers to see if they were able to be replaced. Good news, the 2016 desktop is able to be replaced as it originally belonged to your department. The 2013, on the other hand, says that it came from some place else, I believe Molly Mayhead was the last person this was assigned to. If they are able to submit the request, then I believe both machines can be replaced. The 2013 just needs the original person to have received / intaken it to make the request. 

I also had Adrianna's windows license rights added. They should be good to go next time they log in.

Did you need this service request looked at before 9 
tomorrow or at 9 am tomorrow. The description says 
before 9 am, but I have a note on this service 
request that says at 9 am. If you're available I can 
come take a look anytime before 4pm today.

Hello Mary,

 

On the one computer, (WOU #20161003), the new 
student worker couldn’t log in this morning.  The 
little “timer” just kept going around.  After she 
left, I turned off the machine, and was able to 
log in.  It took quite a while, but I got in.   
Hopefully, it will be fine tomorrow when she comes 
in.

 

The other computer, WOU #20130894),  has been 
turned off and on, but shows this error message: 

 

Alert!  Hard Drive not found.

To continue press F1 key.

To change setup option press F2 key.

To run onboard diagnostics press F5 key.

 

I pressed the F1 key to continue, and then got 
this message:

>>Media Present…..

>>>Start PXE over IPV6.
