Went and took a look at this issue. It seems that the preview panel 
in file explorer was preventing the files from saving. When the file 
it open in two different places the file cannot save. Closing the 
preview panel under view in file explorer resolved the issue.

Good Morning Nicole,

It is possible this is an issue, I tried to reach 
out last week to see if this was the problem you 
were having as instructed by our system admin. If 
you're still having issues with this then it would 
be best if a tech scheduled to come verify what 
your permissions are and see if they match up with 
what our systems team has.

I spoke to my husband about this issue and he said 
he had the same problem at his work.  He said that 
his was an issue of folder permissions.  Could 
that possibly be my problem as well?  It only 
happens when I am working in a network drive 
(which is where I do all of my work).  I mainly 
work in my the I drive labeled "Creative Arts".

I had one put in last year so I don't remember the 
number.  I know that a student named Brody (I 
think) was working on it but couldn't figure it 
out.  He was supposed to talk to Michael about it 
but I never heard back.

Hi there.  I am not sure who can help me with this 
issue.  I have had a few tech come to help but no 
answers yet.  What can I do to try to get this 
resolved?  I work in PDFs all day long so this 
extra step I have to take (see explanation in my 
email to Michael) really takes up a lot of my 
time.

I am reaching out again regarding my Adobe issue.  
I've been battling this for over a year now and it 
really makes my job harder.  I really hope someone 
can help me figure this out because with the 
amount of work I do in PDFs this eats up a lot of 
my time.  Could you direct me to someone that 
might be able to help me?

Michael,

I have an issue with Adobe that no one in UCS 
seems to be able to solve.  I was told to reach 
out to you as "The Master Nerd."   When I open a 
file in Adobe from the shared drives, it does 
not allow me to save the file once I've made 
changes.  It says that "The document could not 
be saved.  The file may be read-only, or another 
user may have it open.  Please save the document 
with a different name or in a different folder."  
This happens with EVERY file I open.  The UCS 
student worker that has been trying to help me 
(Brody) did a lot of troubleshooting and asked 
several people in the UCS department and they 
have no solutions for me.  If I am manipulating 
files on my computer drives it's fine.  It's 
only when I'm working on files in the shared 
drives.  I know you're very busy and this is not 
a rush job, it's just very difficult because a 
large part of my job consists of manipulating 
PDFs from the shared drives so having to save 
the files as a different name, deleting the 
original file, and then renaming the file I 
saved gets pretty time consuming.

This is Tony from UCS. After chatting with my 
bosses, I found out that when running the adobe 
cleaner your computer needs to do a reboot in 
between uninstalling the apps and running the 
cleaner. Is there a time that you have a larger 
chunk of time for someone to come do this?
