she said all students have enrolled in duo, so I could add it on the PC - though it's been added for some time now. I'm assuming this is a non issue and any student needing access got access. Closing ticket.

I need some additional information regarding service request #81546

Description: FinAid student DUO put on front desk PC, admin rights

Do you know if the other students have enrolled in DUO yet?

So far I believe all we added to the DUO group is saylesg and maldonadoa.

Once everyone has DUO, I am able to put it on the front desk PC either today or tomorrow, as well as any other laptop they have for these cases - I remember seeing a second laptop used up at the front, so I will ask if this needs DUO.

I brought the laptop back and it is all set up; two of the four workers have enrolled in DUO. I was told that all four will be present at some point today, so we can add all their duo rights to the group and everyone can log onto the laptop.

20150784[Edit Inv] brought back to UCS to re put DUO on it; 20150784[Edit Inv], along with the front desk PC at FIN AID, need to have the student fin aid duo put on them after that is made.

Hello Kella,

I was recently informed by Kelly that a student worker was trying to use that 2015 laptop we set up in the back; the problem with this is that I put DUO on the laptop as I didn't know it would specifically be oriented for student workers. I wanted to clarify that this laptop was primarily being used by student workers, and if so I can go ahead and reimage / remove DUO from the machine. 

I also was curious and would like to talk about what information student workers potentially have access to with these computers, as I was reminded that the front desk PC does not have DUO on it.

I will email Kella to see if she wanted that laptop for student workers only or for full time employees, from there I can maybe enable or disable DUO on that machine. I want to preface with them that it is sort of not okay for full time fin. aid. staff with access to sensitive info. to log in and use PC's without DUO.

Kelly called in and informed me of their issues: she wanted her student worker, Grace Sayles, to be able to log into the laptop in the back room - the problem is this laptop has DUO. She said it should be able to be accessed by student workers, but then she says it may be used by full time faculty there on occasion; I explained that DUO is needed for security, so any official faculty that has access to sensitive info. will have to login on a DUO enabled computer. We got talking about what sensitive info. students have access to, which seemed to be the last 4 digits of social security numbers and some other minor things - these were basically on the 'border' of needing DUO in my head or not, so I want to clarify with someone that this machine / their accounts needed DUO or not. She was a little irritated at this suggestion, explaining that it had been this way for over two years, and she also didn't like the idea of laptops / PC's only being able to be accessed by student workers OR faculty.

Description: Admin rights for Grace Sayles. 

Normally we don't grant admin rights on any WOU computer for students, regardless of whether they are a student employee or not; I have been told to ask what the admin rights would be needed for? If there is a financial aid app that requires admin rights to be used, this would make sense, but in general we don't put student / student workers as admins. Also, what is the WOU device for the laptop in question? If they are using financial aid computers, have they enrolled in DUO?

kelly Jaskoski called this morning 11/2/23. She 
was curious if there was a way for admin rights to 
be put on the laptop for both her and Grace the 
student employee. If not she would like the admin 
rights put on the laptop for just the student 
employee.
