Hi Megan, was your team able to update their zoom 
applications? They can also try opening up their 
services from the bottom right and right click 
zoom and tell it to check for updates.

With the new Zoom Workplace update, if users don't 
update past version 6 they aren't able to use Zoom!

We hosted a virtual conference on campus on 
Saturday(6/1) and my team, who lives throughout 
the state, were on campus with me.  We ran into a 
major issue when the majority of the team was 
unable to access their zoom account because it 
said to "contact your IT department for updates" 
and therefore could not get on the webinar or help 
host it

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for clarifying, as I thought UCS would 
be shipping those out.  I will be at my office in 
Todd Hall tomorrow morning so it would be great if 
someone could drop them off with me in Room 249 at 
9am.  Will that work for UCS? 

Are they in boxes safe for shipping?  Or do I need 
to make further accommodations to ensure they are 
not damaged in transit?

Hi Megan,

With the TRI department shipping them out, we will 
create local accounts and install VPN on the 
computers so that they may have access to the 
computers and allow them to connect to their 
respective department's network drive.
 
If they ever need support, they can contact UCS, 
and we will provide remote support on inquiries.

know!

Hi Andrew!
Thank you for reaching out.  

It is very difficult for my staff to get on campus 
during the week because they work other full time 
jobs and most don't live near Monmouth, some as 
far away as Medford.  So if the option is open for 
them to login at home, that would be preferable.  
I would just want to make sure there aren't issues 
with moving information from the computer they 
have now to the new one with this option.  With 
the distance, if they do have an issue with the 
computer, again it is hard to get to WOU to fix.  
Is it a fairly straightforward process?

I should have 6 PC computer going to the following 
people:

Hello Megan,

I'm reaching out because I see that there are 
service requests for computer equipment for TRI 
staff.
 
Since they are not on campus, UCS wanted to know 
if they were going to individually come to campus 
to pick up their equipment, or if a shipment was 
required, TRI would be shipping them out.
 
Kindly inform us of the details, as if they come 
and pick up their equipment, we will have them 
login on campus before they leave; otherwise, we 
would need to create local accounts on the 
computers so that they can login from home.
 
If there are any other inquiries, please let me 
know!

I thought I got back to you on this!  So sorry!

Ideally, they wouldn't have to come to campus because they work full time jobs and some live up to 4 hours away.  However, if it is required that they personally get it and set it up on the WOU Wifi, rather than me doing it for them, my guess is that they will schedule those appointments on Friday afternoons, when they can hopefully get away.  

How late is UCS open during the week?

One thing I forgot to confirm..... will each user be able to come in personally and pick up their machine?  (that is why I had the setup individually)  Apparently it matters if they are unable to log in for the first time here on campus.
