went over yesterday and john took a look at it. John 
instructed Front Desk personnel to call UCS if 
computer freezes when ds control point is open.

Good Morning Sam,

Can you let me know if someone plans to come by 
today or this week?  The student at the desk this 
morning also struggled to get the browsers to open 
and run.  They are incredibly slow, with firefox 
needing to be restarted several times.  It took 
nearly 30 minutes to get all of the daily programs 
open and ready to go, where it would typically 
take 2-3 minutes.

Good Morning,

Last week, we were having some issues with the 
Information Desk computer in Student Engagement.  
I thought it was determined that it was due to the 
security cameras and we had Sophos uninstalled and 
reinstalled to try and alleviate the problem.  
However, this morning, my student worker is having 
a hard time getting a browser to load.  Zoom is 
working fine and the internet is connected.  
Eventually, chrome loaded and they were able to 
sign in to the portal but could you send someone 
over to take a look at why the browsers are 
loading so slowly and freezing from time to time?

Checked out this computer, DS Control point as 
causing the computer to freeze. I uninstalled sophos 
and reinstalled due to a resolution we found 
yesterday. This did not resolve the problem.

The W# is 20181469[Edit Inv]. The freezing happens after a 
couple seconds of not being active or not being 
constantly used. I don't think it has to do with 
certain web browsers being open or applications, 
it seems to freeze because there's too many things 
going on at once. After the restart it will work 
fine, until I start to open all the stuff I need 
open, and then it'll load and then freeze. If I 
only open the main necessities and close things 
after I've checked them, it won't freeze. But 
after a few seconds of no activity it'll freeze 
again.

What is the W# of the computer? Does the freezing 
happen with web browsers or specific applications? 
After the restart does it seem to work for the 
rest of the day or just for a specific user? Any 
additional information you can provide us will 
help us figure out how to resolve the issue you

The student engagement WUC information desk 
computer is experiencing some problems like 
freezing and not working for a couple of our staff 
members. The problem stops when we restart the 
computer, but as we start to open our tabs and 
apps, it'll eventually start to go slow and then 
freeze completely.
