Delivered PC to NS 216 and met with Beeb. Added Beeb as a local admin
user and had him log in. I placed the installers for Widesystem and
Nextimage5 R pro onto Beeb's desktop so that he can install and
activate the software once he gets the correct information for
activation including email, first / last name etc. Beeb said he would
contact the vendor directly to get this information.

I just looked in the database and the T: Drive. I 
see nothing called WIDEsystem and Nextimage5 Repro, 
so I am not able to help

Got it. I've downloaded the two software packages to the desktop. Both
packages require information such as email address, company contact
etc. I'm not sure who to put down so I am not able to complete the
installation as of yet.

If your department purchased the license Beeb my assumption would be
the contact info should be for whoever purchased the license or
manages licenses there. If UCS purchased it, I'm assuming Joannie can
give us direction.

Was able to get the software list from Beeb. WIDEsystem & Nextimage5
Repro. Downloaded to the desktop along with pdf with license info.
Attempted to install however it asks for license holder contact info
etc which I do not want to guess at. Emailed Beeb & Joannie to get
correct information as it is not included in the pdf w/ serial
license info.

Brady may have gotten a list of the software / programs it needed on it. I think all it needed really was the software to address the big printer. I don't think autodesk was a requirement. We will see when Beeb replies.

Installed all software assuming this machine is for NS 216. I was
unable to activate Autodesk Autocad 2022. Inventory for the computer
does not say which room it is actually for. First entry for this
computer references NS 113, but then the one after references NS 216.
Called Beeb a few times he was not available. Computer had the wrong
name, changed to proper WOU# with John's help. Button cell seems to
be dead as bios kept coming up with wrong time, poached a button cell
battery from a computer destined for PDR in ITC 002. Will try to
contact Beeb about this computer again tomorrow.

Found it yesterday in one of the cubbys. Have downloaded most
installers to desktop.

Will do the actual installs and activation of licenses today.

We have just gotten the request for the NVME drive and it is ready to be cloned / installed. If you have any good times this week, or maybe next, we would be happy to schedule a time to get everything swapped over.

After talking with Joanie for a bit it looks like for 
us to be able to install a NVMe in the computer we 
would need a service request. She informed me that we 
can't charge departments without a service request.

Going to have to talk to Joanie and see if it’s possible for us to 
charge them instead of them putting a purchase request in for an 
NVMe. Once that’s done we can begin the process of getting this 
computer back up and running.

Hi Brady,

Thanks for all the help trying to get this thing worked out!  I would 
say go for it on the parts needed.  Charge it to NSM967.

I sent a list of the licences that needed to be on there the other 
day but let me know if you need any other info.

Hello Beeb,

We’ve been having a difficult time tryin to reimage the PC. Shortly 
after it got here it was having issue booting up. When i try to 
reimage it the computer tells me it doesn’t have an available boot 
device. 

I’m thinking the hard drive was going out on it and that’s why it 
was running slow. The fix to this would be to order an NVMe to put 
in it which will accomplish two things.

1. The computer will generally run after because of the higher 
transfer speeds
2. The computer will actually run. 

NVMes are $26.69 and are quick to install. Once Joanie gets the 
purchase request for the NVMe I will be able to start the reimaging 
process and get it back to you.

concerns,

Hi Brady,

I can't find the name of the software but it is for the large format 
scanner that the unit is attached to.  I will try to keep looking.  I 
think it was 2 different programs that controlled the imaging and 
scanning but that is basically it.

I'll get back to you asap.

Oh snap!  I'm sorry I didn't bump into you!  I got 
super deep into cleaning some gear in the lab and 
totally lost track of time.

Thanks so much for taking a look at that computer.  
I don't think that unit has been reimagined in a 
while so go for it as long as we can carry over 
the software.

I took a look at W20181430 and tried some 
troubleshooting but couldn't get it fixed today. I 
will see if I can get you a solution by the end of 
the day, but it might require a reimaging of the 
computer.

UCS admin was not logging in, personal log in worked 
but never loaded to home screen. Checked for M2 and 
switched it from Raid On to NHCI. Computer kept 
trying to boot but no signal to monitor.
