they have submitted an order for a 1tb NVME to clone their existing drive to, I am fairly certain I can leave it plugged in via usb adapter and they can use their laptop like normal while it is cloning. Just waiting for the drive.

John found a crucial NVME 1tb for ~60 bucks. Emailing user an estimate around ~75$.

They want to know how much more a future proof, 1tb nvme will be. Requesting quote, then emailing to them.

Good morning, Crystal,

From the looks of it, it's about $35 or so for a 500gb one, which is about double the amount of your current one. It would take about a day to complete, though recently we have had some success within ~2 hours or under. In the meantime, we would provide you with a loaner while the computer is moving all its files over. I really think it's the best option, as there would have to be some serious digging and taking off data. Since this is a student worker station as well, it only makes sense to use a sizeable amount of data with everyone's profiles loaded onto the machine at a given time.

Brady and I attempted to free up storage on the C drive by
removing user profiles. This only freed a bit of space. Brady
recommended a hardware upgrade as a solution.

Hello Crystal,
I am reaching out to recommend putting in a purchase request for a '500gb+ NVME ssd' in order to fix the low storage issue; unless people really went through and wiped everything, there will not be enough space to support all the software / info / and users you all will need loaded on that computer at a given moment. If we went through with this route, it would take anywhere from an hour to a couple hours to fully clone the original drive onto the new drive. During this time, as well, the computer may be inoperable.

Let me know if this is something that may work for the department,
-Jack Martinis, UCS Tech.

There isn't much to do without them putting in a purchase request for an NVME and us cloning the existing 240gb ssd to a bigger one.

Hello this is Crystal Contreras with CPS, we are
running low on the storage. About a month ago a
couple of techs came to look into it and they
recommended deleting some downloads.
Student workers and staff deleted downloads they
no longer need, but it seems to make no difference
on the storage space.

Out of 237GB we have 358MB free.

Thank you,

Crystal Contreras
