I was able to go over there at scheduled time and everything worked after some tedious trouble shooting. For some reason, the internet wasn't working very easy and we couldn't add wifi. Eventually, it was all worked out - I installed her new laptop, monitor, and made sure everything was configured properly. Laptop is using the monitor as a dock of sorts, and is getting charging from it as well. Closing ticket.

In that case; I have assigned the monitor and dock to you - the new monitor is a dell 24" 2023 monitor which we can swap the older monitor for so there is only one on your desk. Now for the dock, I understand you were never assigned a dock, and I see that there is no dock on the new equipment list. Next Monday when our purchasing agent is in, I will ask them to see if we can include a new dock to replace your faulty one with since there are failing ports. This way when you get a new setup in the future it will also include a new dock to replace the one you were assigned with this setup. I will get back to you on Monday some time,

Hello -
Dr. Callero retired suddenly in May of 2021. I looked back through our records and am assuming that steps were missed as campus was closed. My office followed up with him in October 2021 to ask him to return his computer. We then assigned his office to a visiting assistant professor (Evan Shenkin). I'm not sure how it was never picked up. My monitor died several years ago (the 2012 you mentioned - I have never had an official monitor assigned with my laptop, we had asked for a monitor that was no longer in service if one was available) and if my memory is correct we asked UCS about repurposing Dr. Callero's monitor.   I recognize the need to account for equipment - I'm fine with it being picked up if needed.  As not all the ports on the hub work, I made the assumption I could use it - but again, if needed, happy to have it picked up too.  I don't have space on my desk for two monitors either way, and don't prefer to use two monitors, so hopefully the Apple one works as well as the current one I'm using.

I'm glad that the 2:00 spot works for you or your teammate (or close to that time - I have a meeting at 3:00 so I should have plenty of time), and I appreciate all your quick response to get the new computer set up for me.  Note that I would really like to make sure my computer is set up to print to our printer with my login/pin correct as that has been a constant battle for all of my colleagues in our division with Macs.

Would you happen to know if Peter Callero is still employed with Western?

I have gone ahead and updated inventory currently for those two pieces of equipment; when faculty / staff leave, they turn in their GFA equipment unless it was the departments purchase - both the dock as well as the monitor are pieces of GFA equipment and technically need to be turned in. 

I believe we may be able to assign the dock to you as well as the monitor, though I will have to check.

We do have a new monitor along with your macbook, and this comes with speakers and a webcam. 

I have a meeting with an advisor @ 2pm on Tuesday, however that should be completed really fast and I would be able to head over shortly after 2 - or have another tech meet you at 2. Tuesday we typically have two employees on at one time, so we should be able to meet you at the appropriate time on Tuesday.

I won't be on campus today so we will need to find a different day. Is 2:00 on Tuesday the 20th a possibility for the set up? I have meetings and a class back to back on Monday and Tuesday but can be there between 2-3:00 on Tuesday.

I asked our assistant to look for the numbers you requested. For the monitor, the 2012 one died a long time ago so I've been using a new one - does the new Mac monitor have a camera and speakers? I need that for the meetings I hold by zoom.  I'm not sure who the caldigit belonged to before - not all the ports on it work but it has been working for what I need so far.

Hello Mary,
Yes - our default apps include: Microsoft Office, Adobe, Zoom, Chrome/Edge/Firefox. 

This setup will include a new laptop, keyboard / mouse combo, as well as a new monitor. We would replace the existing monitor with the up to date one, and give you the keyboard and mouse to plug in or keep for a backup. I see that you are currently assigned a loaner monitor 20121023[Edit Inv] - was this the one on your desk currently? We may be able to leave this alongside the new monitor for a dual-monitor setup. Also, I didn't see a WOU cal-digit dock assigned to you - would I be able to get the WOU number of that to update our inventory?
If those are the only apps you will need from us, then the MacBook is all ready to go. This setup can be installed today if you are available. I am here till' 5pm today.

Hello -
I am not sure what the defaults are - but I use Office 365 (One Note, Excel, Powerpoint, Word) so would I install those programs myself? and like to have the link to zoom on my taskbar.
Do you know how soon the transfer would take place? I want to keep my same set up of peripherals on my desk (current monitor, mouse, key board and doc stations - one is my own: TBI Pro, the other is CalDigit from WOU) - they are all still working fine.
