Hi Benjamin,

I need some additional information regarding service request #82591

Description: Macbook not charging 

I am unsure if anyone has reached out to you regarding this - from what our notes say, it says we were able to get it charging with a different charger just fine, and then upon swapping the cables between your original charger and ours, your original charging cube worked with our charger. It got a little more confusing when we plugged your charging cord back in and it worked fine, but I think the cable that is with your laptop may be just a little past it's prime and time for a replacement cable. If you would like to try the macbook again as is and see if it is working now, and if not we can get an order started for a new cable.

Brady said he tested the laptop further and it charged with it's original charging cube and another charger's cord, so that would say it's the cord, but then he plugged in the old charging cord and it seemed to work just fine. 

Would recommend charging cord replacement.

Let laptop charge to 61% and the laptop seems to 
be holding charge, battery is functioning normally 
from what I can see. The issue might be the 
charger. I would also like to confirm if they have 
this laptop plugged into their charger and into a 
dock while on campus. 

If thats the case it could disable the USB-C ports 
to stop the battery from going bad. As is though, 
the laptop is functioning within limits.

was able to get the laptop to start charging with 
a different charger, currently up o 21%. Going to 
keep charging for a bit and see if it holds the 
charge. If it does, the battery isnt the issue and 
its most likely the charger that came with the 
laptop.

Out of warranty, will need to pay for a battery replacement. We won't use a used battery from our parts pile, not for batteries.

Dropped off computer #20190150[Edit Inv]. It is not charging, 
charger works, and ports work, just not charging at 
all. Giving loaner #20161159[Edit Inv]
