stored in box #18 on far right.

They wanted this some time on monday before 1pm.

I think the loaner I put over there for them may be able to come back and go straight back to the loaner shelf instead of the imaging station.

could not get through to the original drive.

Put NVME in, left original drive unplugged.

Began imaging. Will do a basic image and then good to go.

Original drive appears to have failed! That is a crazy fate for the time frame, I wish I had gotten it cloned before hand. They said a basic image will be alright on the new drive as they don't use any physical applications. We will attempt to see if we can get anything off of the old drive.

I will be clocking in at that time so if I could meet you just a few minutes past 9am tomorrow, say 9:10am or so?

Thank you for getting back to me.

It sounds like next week would be a better time to swap the drives -- I will be in the majority if not all of next week. Is there anyone who would be able to let me in that would be there next week? It seems most people will be having a spring break. Maybe it would be best to try with public safety to get in there?

Let me know if next week would work for you too,

A loaner will work for us. All we need access to is Google chrome.

I'll be in tomorrow at 1pm if someone wants to come by.

Thank you!

Summary - HD not full, 200gb to spare or so - was an old hybrid drive, and there were a lot of student / user data potentially slowing things down. Ultimately, I think it would be best to reimage this computer with a new NVME drive, though just cloning it to a new NVME drive would make all the difference.

Hi Roseanna,

I need some additional information regarding service request #82603

Description: Front Desk computer slow and freezes

When would be a good time to take a look at this computer? I suspect it may need a hard drive upgrade as I don't see any service request for the computer upgrading that - we have been upgrading desktop hard drives to an NVME and this increases speed like loading web pages and such. I can come take a look at the computer and see if it has one, but I don't think it does in which case we may need to put in a purchase request for a new drive.

They are not sure if the device is up to date
since it was the student worker who reported this
issue.

I will send an email recommending checking for
system updates, but they are requesting for a tech
take a look.

Hello,

The main PC at the front desk seems to take a long
time to load webpages and is freezing. When staff
turn it off then on, it seems to work well for a
while. Any suggestions or can someone take a look
at it?
