Hi Michael,

I need some additional information regarding service request #82801

Description: New PE printing problems

We had a unique situation come in where a department relinquished a printer of the same model as ATH-Hallway. 

I swapped ATH-Hallway with this printer and it should work now! Because it was of the same model, everyone's computers that had ATH-Hallway added to it will remain working and we won't have to come out to re-add the printer to anyone's device. 

I took out the ink cartridge from the previous printer for future use, it is stored in the cabinet / drawer thing right below the printer itself.

Let me know if any help is needed to get the printer working on anyone's device,

In summary: replaced ATH-Hallway with previously acquired, same-model printer from student affairs (maximus.wou.edu printer) and swapped the NIC address, then the printers work. Will email Michael that the old toner cartridge (should still have some juice) is in the sliding drawer under the printer.

What was done! We got a call that student affairs wanted to get rid of one of the three printers they had in their small office because they didn't need all three printers. They relinquished their printer, maximus.wou.edu (20150428) and we swapped that for ATH-Hallway because they were the same model and maximus was actually working. All we had to do was have Paul Lambert replace the NIC address on ATH-Hallway with maximus' NIC, and when I installed the printer it started spewing pages out from the print que!

I think it would be best to talk to Michael about replacement of this printer, that it may not be worth it to source parts especially from third party services as the printer itself gets older and older.

Seems we can: look into part replacement for problematic paper pulling part (top tray), find a way to get paper to pull out of bottom tray and ONLY use the bottom tray (bypass problematic tray 2) or opt for a new printer - which they seem to be more than happy to do if we say that's what's needed (they seem to prefer this option).

Went and took a look - printer did indeed have a strange whirring sound when attempting to pull up paper - two times we tried to print and it jammed paper when pulling from tray 2 (top most white tray). There is a tray below it, which we would assume to be tray 3, but that doesn't work for pulling paper. The waste cartridge is also full on this unit.

printer has had numerous issues in the past - I want to go over and look at this printer, and if any major components need to be replaced on it I would recommend replacement.

Has this printer ever been fixed? I remember before Monica departed that she said there was something that needed to be replaced on this printer, would you happen to know if that ever was taken care of? Also, is the printer otherwise working accordingly / is it only making the weird noise and otherwise working fine?

Michael called and said the printer was making weird 
noises when pulling paper, thinks it might be a 
hardware issue.
