I need some additional information regarding service request #82869

Description: Check that 2nd monitor is working and manage cables.

Has your 2nd monitor been behaving as expected recently?

Brady assisted with hooking them back up - what we did instead is; one of the monitors is hooked up to the dock via display port, and the other through usb c (both plugged into the dock). Then, each monitor was told to not auto look for inputs and only look for their respective inputs (dp for the one and usb c for the other). 

Now, Sheree only has to plug the one cord into her macbook and I believe this will solve our problem. Will confirm soon that this fix worked, and then good to close the ticket.

Description: 2nd Monitor not coming up when laptop screen goes on lock screen mode

I am available tomorrow from 9am-5pm. If you are available we can attempt using new cables and a few other tricks.

she also wanted to try new video cables because it only started happening a month or so ago and it may be from the bends the cables go through.

Good Morning, Sheree!

I am sorry that you are having issues with your 2nd monitor again today. I am hoping I am able to come over some time today and attempt to update the two Dell monitors to their latest software, though I cannot guarantee that this will solve the issue entirely. This is sort of an issue with mac os itself as the displays need to send the signal to connect to the mac, and it doesn't always go through when they are idling and not doing anything (when the mac is sleeping or away from the monitors). If you are available this morning or some time today, I would be more than happy to update the monitors to their latest firmware and we can see if that helps any. If I remember correctly, the process takes around 10-15 minutes.

didn't come up with a solution really; problematic mac sleep monitor arrangement. One monitor is plugged in through the dock's DP port, and the other monitor is plugged straight into the macbook for HDMI connection. I wonder if updating the monitors would help this.

Simply changed the audio output to the monitor in windows mixer settings. Also showed user that you have to click into a gmail email to drag and drop attached files, not just from the general view of all the emails (because this just drags the whole email and not the file itself).

user says when laptop locks, the 2nd monitor kind 
of goes on sleep mode displaying an error message 
"No DP signal"
