Hi jaclyn,

I noticed your ticket to repair your laptop has 
been open for a while.  I'm going to go ahead and 
take over so we get this resolved for you.  After 
some testing it seems that the graphics processor 
is likely damaged.  Since spills generally aren't 
covered under the warranty contract, your 
department will likely have to pick up the cost of 
the repair.

I need you to remove your laptop from Apple's find 
my device.  Apple won't let us open a ticket until 
this is done.  Here are instructions on how to do 
that:

Once you remove the device, I can open a support 
ticket and send it to Apple. They will do a 
diagnostic and send us an estimate to repair.  I 
can relay that information and your department can 
make the decision whether or not to repair it.

Then, we can inform the user that we would ship it into apple where they would tell us how much it would be to fix - we don't have a ballpark idea of how much this could be because we don't know what's broken with it.

need to test macbook for rest of working stuff - does camera work? Does keyboard work? Does trackpad work? Do speakers work?

monitor don't work, rest of setup does - only thing that doesn't work is screen. 

Apple doesn't cover accidental damage like this, the department would have to pay for the fix however much that would be.

Hi Jaclyn,

We realized after giving you the loaner laptop that 
we did not give you admin rights, which you will 
need if you have to download anything to your loaner 
laptop. 

We apologize for this inconvenience, and if there is 
any time today that you are able to come in so we 
can give you admin rights we are open until 5pm. 
Unfortunately it does have to be bestowed in person 
and cannot be done remotely. We can also send a tech 
out to do that for you if you are unable to come in 
to UCS.

Good morning!

Yesterday I had an incident between my water 
bottle and my MacBook while I was reaching for my 
charger. I attempted to dry in right away but the 
screen promptly went dark. HELP :)

Is there a loaner computer that I can pick up 
today so that I can finish my grading from home 
and do additional work over Spring break?
