Hi Piper,

I need some additional information regarding service
request #82973

Description: NS 204 lab computer not turning on

The computer appears to be in working order - it
wasn't displaying anything to the screen for
whatever reason, so I simply held down the power
button for 10 seconds to assure it turned off all
the way and then restarted the computer and it is
working now. I will email Ava about this as well.

When I got there, the computer was on but not
displaying anything, and it's power button light
still refuses to show so it looks like it isn't on
almost. However, I held down the power button and
made sure the computer was all the way off, then,
I restarted the computer and was met with the Dell
boot screen and then windows boot screen. I am
actively typing from the machine for this update.

Will email Ava that the computer is okay, and if
it stops outputting anything to the screen in the
future to just hold the power button down and turn
it back on.

Closing ticket.

I'm sorry I don't have any more information for
the techs. I believe it is not turning on.

You can send someone over while the class is in
session. So any time they're available, the sooner
the better.

Thanks.

Piper,

Would you also be able to provide more information
for our techs? When you say the computer is not
working, is it not turning on? Is it freezing up?
What is not working? Please let me know.

 Best,
Mary

Hello,

Dr. Ava Howard said she left a phone message about
this. She has a lab class in NS 204 right now and
at least one of the lab computers is not working.
It is # 20180182[Edit Inv].

She is hoping that a UCS tech can come over ASAP
to check it out. She has another class in the same
room later today.

thanks,
Piper
