Laptop has suffered tea spill in the past, SR 79862, may be the result after all this time.

Worried Apple will see liquid detection stickers go off and shun the warranty, but we shall see.

If we're trying to get it fixed before the 
warranty is up, then yes, a loaner laptop would be 
needed.  I'd need the basic MS office suite,  the 
current version of Vectorworks on a non-networked 
educational license (I have a license number that 
can be used, mac os12 or higher), and Adobe 
photoshop.  Vectorworks has some fairly steep 
hardware needs but I think I can avoid that by 
keeping the files simple for the rest of the term.

Hello,

The macbook is still under warranty currently but 
the warranty is only good until June, so we can 
look at it and possibly send it in to Apple for 
repairs. We can have a loaner laptop set up for 
you to use while yours is being worked on if 
you're interested in that. If you are, is there 
any special software or applications you would 
need installed?

My office & design computer, mac powerbook 
#20200747[Edit Inv], is having issues.  As of this morning, 
there are flickering stripes across the bottom of 
the screen and an intermittent vertical line 
(image included) which make me suspect that the 
GPU is failing.  I've backed up all files but I'm 
in the middle of lighting design for the spring 
theatre production, possibly designing the scenery 
for the Fall production before the end of the 
term, and using it for demonstrations in classes.  
Any thoughts on how to get through the rest of the 
term if it fails?  If it will last for the next 5 
weeks then we're ok since I'll be gone after that.
