Took a long time to setup; one issue I was running into was that the second monitor kept usb chiming when its passthrough cable was plugged into the dock monitor.

I tried both his old and new monitor, as well as the old and new passthrough cable and every possible combination but it kept making a random chiming sound (like usb plugged or unplugged) every few moments and was not okay to leave like that.

The only solution I currently have is that the usb passthrough is plugged into the laptop along with the usb c cable. It looks meh, and Jim and I talked about this, I demonstrated the issue and how everything I tried seemed to not work and I wasn't sure why. 

The monitors are fully up to date, no updates to find for monitors / usb for Windows or dell command, and I downloaded the monitor utility on the laptop itself to make sure there was nothing negatively effecting it to no avail.

So, everything works, but with the two cords coming out of his laptop which we have been trying to avoid for aesthetics reasons.

I will plan on coming over to NS002 this Wednesday at 9:30.

In the meantime; would you make sure that any file physically saved onto the computer itself is saved onto a cloud storage like your H drive or Google drive?

We will be swapping your current computer out for this new one and anything not saved to the H drive / cloud will not be accessible on the new device.

Hi Jim,

I need some additional information regarding service request #83462

Are there any special programs that UCS has downloaded on your prior machine that you would need assistance downloading on your new machine?

If you can download any special software yourself, then this laptop and setup is ready to go. 

What are some good times that would work with you to install this?
