Hi Richard, 

I apologize for my lack of communication about this subject over the past months. I am not employed by the University during the summer months, and have been away from work and my office until recently. When logging back into my office computer this week, it appears that sophos is still unable to update, along with Chrome. If you have a new antivirus software to install, and someone who can assist me with this and other issues, I'd be happy to schedule a time for someone to meet with me at my office in DeVolder Family Science Center (DFSC 211) if this needs to be completed in person. If this can be accomplished virtually, please let me know if there is anything that I will need to do to help initiate this. 

I will be on campus and available this Friday (the 20th) from 9am until 12:30pm, and next week Monday-Friday (M,W or F would be preferable) at any point between 9am and 4pm. Please let me know if there is a time that will work particularly well for you or another representative to assist with this, or if you have any other comments or information for me at this time.

Hi David ,

I need some additional information regarding service request #83650

Description: Sophos update failed

I failed to realize this was an iMac and 'bringing it into UCS' was a bad suggestion on my part... if you have any availability next week, or if we can have access to your computer without you being there we should be able to update Sophos.

Hello David;

If you have any availability to come into UCS for us to help sophos update, we would be more than happy to do so.

Sophos occasionally does this on Mac's across the university; have you per chance updated Mac OS recently? Often times, new editions of Mac OS change certain permissions with things like Apps and we may have to reconfigure a thing or two to get it to update and sync on our end.

Hi Jack, 

This issue has not yet been resolved. Primarily, the issue is that Sophos does not appear to be able to update. My H drive has since returned to my office computer (occasionally it is missing and will reappear after some time or not). I've attempted to restart my computer and update sophos manually, but there does not appear to be an option to do so on my end that I'm aware of. My computer ID is 20200140[Edit Inv]. 

I recently installed a system/apps update, but this also did not help with allowing sophos to update. I'd just like to make sure that my computer is being properly protected and that this software is functional. 

Please let me know if there is any additional information that you need for me or anything that I may be able to do.

Hi David,

Could you try restarting your device then try 
updating sophos manually by clicking on the sophos 
endpoint and see if it resolves the issue. Let us 
know how it goes!

Hi, 

I noticed a message today on my office computer 
(#20200140) that indicates that sophos has been 
unable to update. I'm not sure how long this has 
been the case, but it appears that the requested 
course of action is to contact your department to 
determine what I can do to resolve this issue. 

Are you aware of what action may be necessary on 
my part or yours to assure that sophos can update 
properly?

i, 

I attempted restarting my device (multiple times: 
once for a general system/apps update, and once 
again just restarting), and clicking on sophos 
endpoint. It's still not providing me with any 
option that I can find to manually update. What 
should I do at this point?

Additionally, I'd like to mention that 
periodically (like earlier this morning) my H 
drive will not show up on the computer's (Mac OS) 
files. I've been able to resolve this by 
restarting the computer most of the time, but I'm 
not sure why it's not showing up at times. 

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or 
knowledge of how to fix these issues.
