Hi Ana,

I'm glad it worked! There should also be some included cables that end in a normal usb on one end, and on the other end they have a weird sort of square shape with a hat on top - this end has a blue tip on the inside. Each of the monitors has a plug for this cord too, and this cord allows the passthrough of the monitor's accessories like USB ports, speakers, and camera. If you don't have one of these connected to from at least one of the monitors to the dock, then the camera and speaker will not be an option to select on your computer. It will default to the laptops built in speaker and camera, so if you want to have it on one of the monitors just make sure that that usb cable is plugged in.

If you need any further help configuring anything say in zoom I am able to help with that as well.

Have a good morning,

-Jack Martinis, UCS Tech.

Probably got it figured out before I sent out that tip lol. As a follow up I made sure to clarify the cord with the usb passthrough connectivity on the monitors.

Hi Ana,

I need some additional information regarding service request #84194

Description: help setting up dock remotely

There are 3 ports on the dock capable of video output for connecting to your monitor, two full size Display Ports, and one full size HDMI port. Each of the monitors should have a display port and HDMI port each. As long as each monitor has a display cable running from it to the dock, they both should come on after plugging the dock into your laptop.

Let me know if this helps, and if it doesn't let me know and we can try something different.

There are 4 display outputs on this dock, 2 full size Display Ports, 1 full size HDMI port, and 1 USB-C port capable of video out (marked with a D for display). Both of the monitors should have a full size display port and HDMI port, and if we shipped the setup there should have been two cords for there to be plugged into the dock. The dock is the only thing that should need to be plugged into the laptop.

What cord would she need to connect to two monitors?
She is only able to connect to one currently.

Thank you for the follow up Sam, I was able to set
it up. However, I was only able to do one monitor
because this Dell laptop doesn't have the plug-in
cable/pattern as the last one I had, I'll need to
find a new USB that matches this actual laptop.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

forgot to include this before her response!

Perfect, the following is a link to instructions
on how to connect and set that up. If you expand
the sections, you can follow instructions for
thunderbolt 3 set-up!

Are you currently on-campus? If you are, is Todd 207 your office?

I can have a tech head over and help you with installing your dock.
