Hi Sarah,

I need some additional information regarding service request #84291

Description:  Slow login on computer

I have attempted today to remove the user and I am unable to get the user list even loaded and opened to click on Abigail's profile to delete. My admin profile also took a long time to load into; typically these are signs that the hard drive currently on the PC is failing and may soon die altogether, making any data recovery impossible for us. 

I would still recommend replacing this computer's hard drive with an NVME.

Hi Sarah,

I was wanting to re-email about this as I still have the ticket open - we could either put a new hard drive in the computer to speed it up, or a new computer can be purchased and put in it's place. 

Both options would speed up the computer quite a bit.

Let me know if either of these options works,

Hi Sarah,

Description:  Slow login on computer

Apologies for the delay in communication regarding this ticket.

My findings on paper point to the hard drive within this computer - it is quite dated, and from the sounds of it, when it takes this long to load that is a tell tale sign that the drive is starting to fail and could fail at any point.

If replacement with a new computer isn't an option currently, my best recommendation would be to put in a purchase request for a "500gb NVME hard drive" to swap the drive out with - this will speed it up immensely and prolong it's life.

Hello,

One of our student work stations is struggling to 
get students logged in.  I was told it is taking 
close to 30 minutes for them to get logged in and 
start the programs that they use, including chrome 
for portal access and then logging in to astra.  
Could you please look at it or give me some 
troubleshooting ideas to try?
