We are unable to do anything with the foot pedals, Kimberly is
going to research other software and have us install one that
works.

Hi Kimberly,
I went over and I did all the troubleshooting I
could to try to resolve the pedal issue.  I could
not get it to respond in the Start/Stop software
but it does respond in other applications.  I went
ahead and opened a support ticket to the software
vendor and I am waiting to hear back from them.
Hopefully they will get back to me with a fix
quickly but I've never worked with them before so
I don't know what kind of response time I'm
looking at.
If you have a temporary solution you may want to
utilize it while we wait for a response.
Thanks,David

We tried running in compatibility mode and it
corrupted the software. We reinstalled it again
and noticed sentential One is flagging some of the
software components. We are sending it to
cybersecurity for review and possible whitelisting
of the .exe files being flagged.

Me, Ben, and Brady took a look at this software,
hardware and computer. The actual pedals are
registering as a device and can be used to close
tabs ect. However, the software "Start-Stop" will
not recognize the pedals anymore. Computer had
SOPHOS we removed it and put Sentinel One on it.
We checked for drivers through windows, checked
windows updates, checked optional updates. We also
uninstalled and reinstalled the software along
with restarting the computer.

None of these things fixed the issue.

David recommends going to the website of the
footpedals and downloading the drivers from there.

Dear Sam:
The WOU laptop # is 2020670. Our workshop is
scheduled from 1-2 today and so that is likely too
short notice. I will be in my office 208 Bellamy
through 11:45 and will plan to come to 236 Bellamy
with the students at 1 in any case. I can show
them some of the features today if it's not
possible to have it repaired. Our next use of the
classroom would be Monday Nov 4 at 1:00.
Thank you so much!

Hi Kimberly,

Are you able to provide the WOU# for the laptop in
that room? Is it just one laptop that has the
software installed?

I have created SR 85345 for our techs to assist
with this when they are available.

Will you be teaching more classes in that
classroom this week? We can try to schedule a tech
to head out before then if they are available.

Best,
Sam

Dear UCS:
Last year you loaded Start/Stop transcription
software onto the laptop in Bellamy 236. I tested
the equipment today as students need to use it and
the pedals will not respond to the software. The
pedals are connected via USB and we have tried to
reconfigure them. Would you please come and
connect them for us? The students need to
transcribe oral history interviews as soon as
possible.
Thank you!
Kim
