Hi Chehalis,

So that device W20141254 was purchased with our old style of GFA funds and is no longer replaceable with GFA funds 
in its current state. GFA funds can only be used to replace or distribute computers assigned to a specific user.  A 
2014 tower like that is way past the date of support and can't be updated to the latest operating system, security 
updates, or security software that is used on the campus. For that reason, UCS will not be able to repair that 
device. If you would like to use department funds to replace it, UCS will be more than happy to help image and set 
it up for you. We can also help facilitate moving any data or setting up software on a new device as well.

No, the lab isn't unlocked during normal work 
hours- but I am here Mondays 2-4, Tuesdays 2-3, 
Wednesdays 3-5, and Thursdays 9-12

And Tracy, in the Behavioral Sciences office 
(right across the hall Todd 325) is aware of the 
problem with my computer and can let someone into 
the lab space if I am not available. 

Or we can try to schedule a time to meet with a 
tech. Let me know what you think would work best!

Hello UCS Friends, 

I hope your week is going well. 

I am reaching out because I've been having 
problems with my desktop computer in Todd 310. 

It is an old computer - but has worked well up 
until the past few weeks. 

Here is the number on the computer
20141254 (see attached photo). 

This computer is in Todd 310 and has been very 
slow opening up, shuts down frequently and 
unexpectedly, and this past weekend I ran into 
problems uploading a video file to this computer. 

I'm not sure if there is a problem with the 
computer, if the software needs updating or if 
this is just an old device that needs to be 
replaced. 

Can someone take a look?
