If they have 7 zip installed, they can right click a 
zipped folder then select 7 zip> extract here

Tell the user to try using 7-zip to unzip files. 
If they don't have 7-zip installed, it is a free 
download they can get or a tech from UCS can help 
them install it.

Hi Julie,

Is your computer a MAC or PC? 

If you have a PC, type in "check for updates" on 
your Start menu search bar and that will pull up 
the Windows Update screen where you'd want to make 
sure your computer is updated because a computer 
that is backed on system updates for a long time 
can potentially cause issues with extracting files 
from zip folders as outdated system files and 
security patches may not properly support or 
handle potential file corruption within the zip 
archive, leading to extraction errors. 

If you have a MAC, click the Apple Menu in the top 
left corner and select "System Settings" followed 
by General>Software Update and verify if your Mac 
OS is the latest one which is Sequoia. Just like 
PCs, mac that hasn't been updated for a 
significant period can cause issues like being 
unable to extract files from zip folders as 
outdated software versions may contain bugs that 
can interfere with basic functions.

My computer recently stopped letting me extract 
data or open files that are contained in a zip 
file. This is true whether I create a zip file 
myself or receive it.
