Hi Emily,

We can give you a loaner macbook while we do updates and if your device is really running poorly we can consider 
it for early replacement. In order to make an exception for early replacement, we need a service record to show 
that we've used our due diligence to diagnose and fix any ongoing issues.

It is very important that devices have our security software and updates on them. Unfortunately, until recently 
we didn't have the ability to force updates on some of the older Apple devices. We would prefer not to have to 
force updates to users as they might cause a disruption and begin updating in the middle of an important task.

It's better if you are able to start updates at the end of the day when you finish your work.

Let me know if you would like us to get a loaner ready for you. The only thing we ask is for you to move any 
files you need into Google drive and/or your shared drives(H:,I:, etc) as the update may require us to wipe the 
drive and install a fresh version of the operating system.

Let me know if we can get something scheduled soon.
