Hi Heather,

It should install and replace with or without the
application on the computer. If this doesn't work
please let me know!

Best,
Andrew

Before I try this, they had me delete iMovie last
week. Will this still work if I dont have an old
version still on the computer?

Hi Heather,

Sorry for the delay! We were researching solutions
for apps that were outdated and wouldn't install and
it seems you would need to do a drop replace a new
iMovie over the old one to update.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_yvcrzZBfIpITNXzcyO
fN1IZ0jOqU6VI/view?usp=sharing

I've sent the link for the latest iMovie at the time
of this writing and move this .zip to the
Applications folder and opened it to extract.
This should replace the older iMovie and allow you
to use it.

If you have any questions on steps or other concerns
please let me know!

Best,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Unfortunately, it did not work. Any other ideas?

Hi Heather,

We were just following up with you regarding a
service request that we have for you. (#86635)

Description: Unable to Update iMovie

Here are other steps you can take to get iMovie to
work again. In "System Settings", go to "General",
then "Storage", in "Applications" "i" icon find
"iMovie" then delete. If it asks for your password
enter it and it should remove it.

After removing the older version of iMovie you
should be able to head back to Self Service and
install the latest iMovie from there.

Best,
Andrew

Hi Heather,

I need some additional information regarding service
request #86635

Description: Unable to Update iMovie

Hello my name is Dyllan C. and I work for UCS here a
WOU. On your device you should have an app called
Self Service. Open this app. Then in the search bar
at the top left of the window search IMovie. Then
click on Install IMovie. If that option is not there
please inform me and we can look into further steps.

Thank you for your time,
Dyllan C.

Heather,

After updating the OS were you able to get in and

I did update and am running the most current
version.
What do I need to do to get this iMovie restored?
I am a curriculum designer on my grant and all my
work is done in that app.

Thanks!

Heather,

I was able to ask around and gather more
information for the issue at hand. Looks like the
reason for the message is because users should not
have access to the app store.

You might also have to update your IOS as
sometimes the IOS is tied to your version.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Mary

Thank you Mary. I am. It should be whatever one
is there on file for me. I haven't made any
changes. A couple weeks ago they told me I needed
to update my computer, so I did. Now this popped
up today.

Thanks!
