Yesterday I had to disconnect the big monitor in 
order to keep the laptop working. I was able to 
connect a mouse to the laptop, but not my external 
drive, Dell monitor, the CalDigit dock or 
keyboard.

Denise,

What exactly are you needing? Our techs were told 
you would set up the extra monitor by yourself. If 
you do need help though, we can absolutely send a 
tech to do that.

Thanks - that was quick! The keyboard seems to be 
fine, I just don't have enough USB ports to plug 
it in.

A reminder that Mac hates its users....

Or maybe it's the dock. After a half hour of 
attempts to get started, I disconnected the big 
monitor, and the dock unit from the laptop. 

I was able to connect to the CalDigit using a 
different device (for use at home to be able to 
use USB connections). But it's a temporary fix, as 
I need access to a keyboard and second monitor for 
graphic design work.
