Xerox C400 error 092-318 indicates a "Yellow (Y) Patch Error" and typically involves a problem with the yellow toner cartridge
or imaging unit. Here's a breakdown of troubleshooting steps:
Troubleshooting Steps:
Verify Toner Cartridge: Ensure you are using genuine Xerox toner cartridges.
Remove and Reinstall: Remove and reinstall the yellow toner cartridge and the corresponding color drum cartridge (imaging
unit).
Power Cycle: Power off the printer, wait 10 seconds, and then power it back on.
Clean Contacts: Clean the metal electrical contacts on the back of the toner cartridge and where they mate inside the printer
using isopropyl alcohol and Q-tips.
Replace Cartridge/Drum: If the problem persists, consider replacing the yellow toner cartridge or the corresponding drum
cartridge.
Contact Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, contact Xerox support for further assistance.
