****This is an email****

Good morning, Jessica!

I'm Arin from UCS, and I'm emailing to follow up on how your
spacebar and trackpad have been responding.

Our front desk called and left a message, but we're not sure if it
reached you. Are you still having issues with the spacebar and
trackpad, or did it get better? I can email a step-by-step guide on
the setting changes we recommend, if you'd like.

Please let us know,
- Arin

Step-by-Step Fix:
1. Turn Off VoiceOver

Press: Command (⌘) + F5
This toggles VoiceOver on or off.
OR go to:
Apple Menu → System Settings → Accessibility → VoiceOver
Turn it off
2. Disable Full Keyboard Access (if enabled)

Go to:
System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Navigation
Turn off "Full Keyboard Access" (this sometimes causes the blue
box too)
3. Trackpad Settings

Go to:
System Settings → Trackpad
Check for any gestures like “Tap to click” or “Three-finger drag”
that might be interfering. Try disabling them temporarily.
You can also reset trackpad settings by toggling them off and
back on.
4. Restart the MacBook

Sometimes a restart can reset unusual behavior if the above
doesn’t fully resolve the issue.

It sounds like macOS Accessibility features—specifically VoiceOver
or Full Keyboard Access—might be enabled on Jessica’s MacBook,
which could explain the behavior of the spacebar and trackpad:

Jessica called saying that her MacBook was having issues with her
spacebar and her trackpad. Her spacebar when clicked creates a
"blue box" preventing her from working. The trackpad when
clicked jumps to the top of whatever page that she is working on.
