I want to ask you a couple of questions. 00:01:16.000 --> 00:01:18.000 What was your first teaching experiences like 00:01:18.000 --> 00:01:21.000 and what was your favorite part about them? 00:01:21.000 --> 00:01:26.000 I think all my teaching experiences were favorites in one way or the other. 00:01:26.000 --> 00:01:32.000 But it's the student, the faculty and others that I got to teach with and the 00:01:32.000 --> 00:01:35.000 places in which I taught or worked with people in education. 00:01:35.000 --> 00:01:41.000 Wonderful. And what was the most significant experiences of your career? 00:01:41.000 --> 00:01:47.000 I would have to say it was working with the centers that provided assistance 00:01:47.000 --> 00:01:51.000 to school districts in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska to 00:01:51.000 --> 00:01:54.000 to help them come into compliance with civil rights regulations 00:01:54.000 --> 00:01:60.000 and with Title IX regulations and to see the changes that could occur 00:02:00.000 --> 00:02:03.000 when people put their hearts and minds to this task. 00:02:03.000 --> 00:02:05.000 What an incredible experience! 00:02:05.000 --> 00:02:08.000 And then finally what is the advice that you have 00:02:08.000 --> 00:02:12.000 for this year's graduation class of 2021? 00:02:12.000 --> 00:02:16.000 A lot of advice, but mainly to take advantage of the opportunity 00:02:16.000 --> 00:02:20.000 that you have in tumultuous times to do some wonderful things. 00:02:20.000 --> 00:02:24.000 And to think of yourselves as not only unique characters, 00:02:24.000 --> 00:02:28.000 because everybody is unique, but also to think of yourself 00:02:28.000 --> 00:02:32.000 not only as a me but as a we.
