I chose Western Oregon University because I liked the size of the campus, and the size of the classes.

This term I'm taking a psychology course on death and dying.

I think it's important to take this course as a gerontology major because you're working with older adults,

What I really like about the WOU faculty is the personal attention, they know your name, they're always willing to work with you,

One thing I find valuable about Western's gerontology program, is that they require you to do two internships.

So I'm currently on my second internship at Center 50 plus which is a senior center in Salem, Oregon.

Here I've learned the different roles and duties that the director and the staff members do.

Currently I'm also president of the Gerontology Student Association here on campus.

I would recommend Western to other students because of the campus community that's here.
