Farewell to the Jensen Arctic Museum As one of only two institutions dedicated to collections related to Arctic life, the Jensen Arctic Museum opened on the Western Oregon University campus in 1985 by emeritus professor Dr. Paul H. Jensen. Although WOU made the difficult decision to cease operation of the Jensen Museum due to funding challenges, the collection will be moved to the University of Oregon Museum of Natural Cultural History in 2014. We offer this exhibit as a tribute to Dr. Paul Jensen as we bid a fond farewell to the museum.

This show has been a standard at the gallery for 13 years and always proves to be a favorite of our artists and our visitors. Civil Rights Film Series: Freedom Riders As part of the annual Civil Rights Film Series, the Sociology Dept. will be showing "Freedom Riders," which is about famous bus trips across the South for desegregation. Students can take the series for credit or just attend for the fun of it, and everyone in the community is more than welcome.

The combatants are a sexy, volatile young woman and three Back Bay types a writer, a lawyer and a fiancee in sensible shoes. The setting is Boston, the ending is happy and laughter abounds.

Magician: Ben Seidman Ben has made numerous appearances at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, earning the name "Resident Magician." He is a favorite of many at the Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, California. Currently, he stars in Magic Outlaws with two of his friends, who perform magic and travel across the world together.

Description: As one of only two institutions dedicated to collections related to Arctic life, the Jensen Arctic Museum opened on the Western Oregon University campus in 1985 by emeritus professor Dr. Paul H. Jensen. Although WOU made the difficult decision to cease operation of the Jensen Museum due to funding challenges, the collection will be moved to the University of Oregon Museum of Natural Cultural History in 2014. We offer this exhibit as a tribute to Dr. Paul Jensen as we bid a fond farewell to the museum.

Description: As one of only two institutions dedicated to collections related to Arctic life, the Jensen Arctic Museum opened on the Western Oregon University campus in 1985 by emeritus professor Dr. Paul H. Jensen. Although WOU made the difficult decision to cease operation of the Jensen Museum due to funding challenges, the collection will be moved to the University of Oregon Museum of Natural Cultural History in 2014. We offer this exhibit as a tribute to Dr. Paul Jensen as we bid a fond farewell to the museum.

Description: River Gallery in Independence invites you to our annual "Wild Women" show, a celebration of the feminine spirit, creativity and hope. This show has been a standard at the gallery for 13 years and always proves to be a favorite of our artists and our visitors. Brighten your January and February with a visit to the gallery to enjoy the many interpretations of this theme by a host of Oregon artists. The show opens on January 22 and runs through March 1, with opening night set for Saturday, February 1st, from 6pm - 9pm. Come spend the evening. Enjoy Independence's many restaurants. Join us for refreshments, music, meet the artists, and of course, spend time with the wonderful art. This is one of the highlights of our gallery season.
