Farewell to the Jensen Arctic Museum As one of only two institutions dedicated to collections related to Arctic life, the Jensen Arctic Museum opened on the Western Oregon University campus in 1985 by emeritus professor Dr. Paul H. Jensen. Although WOU made the difficult decision to cease operation of the Jensen Museum due to funding challenges, the collection will be moved to the University of Oregon Museum of Natural Cultural History in 2014. We offer this exhibit as a tribute to Dr. Paul Jensen as we bid a fond farewell to the museum.

Wild Women at the River Gallery River Gallery in Independence invites you to our annual "Wild Women" show, a celebration of the feminine spirit, creativity and hope. This show has been a standard at the gallery for 13 years and always proves to be a favorite of our artists and our visitors. Brighten your January and February with a visit to the gallery to enjoy the many interpretations of this theme by a host of Oregon artists. The show opens on January 22 and runs through March 1, with opening night set for Saturday, February 1st, from 6pm - 9pm. Come spend the evening. Enjoy Independence's many restaurants. Join us for refreshments, music, meet the artists, and of course, spend time with the wonderful art. This is one of the highlights of our gallery season.

Incidental Fee Committee Open Hearings The Incidental fee, separate from tuition, is currently $306 per student, per term and is under the process of changing for the following academic year. We have an opportunity to hear from any student that has any opinion on the fee and the changes that are being proposed. If you love the services provided through the fee, tell us which ones. Think the fee is too high? We need to know that as well. Open hearings are Wednesday, February 12th in the Summit room in WUC, check in at 5:00pm and Tuesday, February 18th in the Pacific room, check in at 6:00pm.

This eclectic comedy show needs to be seen to be understood so dont miss this event, sponsored by the Student Activities Board of Western Oregon University. Winter Preview Day II Prospective and admitted students as well as their guests are invited to attend Winter Preview Day. Program activities will include a academic department/student services fair, campus and residence hall tours, information sessions and complimentary lunch at Valsetz Dining Hall. High school seniors and transfer students are invited to apply for Fall Term 2014 admission at check-in. Students will receive notification of their admission status at the conclusion of the program. Students are advised to complete the online registration process to guarantee their spot for a Winter Preview Day.

Cinderella Ball: Cutloose Heritage Hall Government is putting on it's annual Cinderella Ball. Come out and Cutloose at this semi-formal, Footloose themed traditional dance! There will be a DJ, chocolate fondue bar, and photo booth. Stop by the Valsetz Alcove for Pre-Sale tickets every week day from 11am-1pm and 5-8 pm until the 21st.

Jensen. Although WOU made the difficult decision to cease operation of the Jensen Museum due to funding challenges, the collection will be moved to the University of Oregon Museum of Natural Cultural History in 2014.
