As part of the Summer Heatwave Concert Series, Chicago Afrobeat Project will perform funk/jazz/electro-beat music. Free marionberry cobbler will be available as well as BBQ food for purchase. The series happens every Wednesday from June 27 through August 1 (except for July 4).
Hailing from Chicago, IL, the tightly wound groves displays a strong jazz sensibility a la electric Miles Davis and just the right amount of restraint. They are a dynamic musical collective rooted in ?70s funk and jazz-infused afrobeat, incorporating elements of hip-hop, orechetra-esq musical arrangement, and exciting stylistic exploration touching on rock, jazz and funk. |
